Helping Kids Breathe, Speak & Thrive
Meet Rebeca Ricard, M.S., CCC-SLP
Founder of Root Speech & Myo
I’m a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and certified Orofacial Myologist based in Miami, FL. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children across schools, clinics, and private practice settings—and I founded Root Speech & Myo to bring families a more holistic, airway-focused approach to communication and development. My passion is helping children breathe, speak, and thrive by addressing not just speech and language, but also oral function, feeding, and airway health. I believe therapy should feel gentle, engaging, and play-based—where every child feels safe, empowered, and celebrated for who they are.

Before Starting Therapy
A simple path to begin your child’s Thrive
Our process is simple and family-focused. We start by understanding your child’s needs, then guide you step by step—from initial screening and evaluation to creating a personalized therapy plan. Each stage is designed to give parents clarity, support, and confidence while helping children reach their full potential.
Screenings
Short, focused screenings to help identify potential speech, language, feeding, or airway concerns. Screenings are a great first step for families who want to know if a full evaluation is recommended and provide peace of mind about their child’s developmental progress.
Comprehensive Evaluations
A thorough bilingual (English/Spanish) assessment that examines your child’s speech, language, and oral function. You’ll receive a detailed written report along with a specialized plan of care—providing clear recommendations and goals to improve your child’s overall communication and oral development.
Determine Therapy
A customized therapy plan is created according to your child’s evaluation results. This plan outlines the specific goals, strategies, and type of therapy that will best support your child’s needs—whether in speech, language, feeding, or airway development.
